"Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate."
Psalm 127:3-5

Friends and Amish Country

051
Puzzling over riddles at the other end of the table.

053
The ping-pong queen and a sweet friend.

054
Another sweet friend who happens to be a great cook!

055
The Penny Game, I’m stumped:)

057
We encountered  many buggies a few miles off the freeway in Lancaster County, PA.

059
Harvesting time by horse-power.

062
The view behind the local thrift shop!

064

065
One room Amish schoolhouses were scattered every few miles.  It was fun to drive by them during recess and see bare foot girls playing outside, while foot scooters lined the fence.

067
We stayed in an old farmhouse on a dairy farm run by a Christian farmer and his sons.  The milking process is automated and interesting.

068
Farm kittens.

078
The calves were our favorite farm friends:)

079
“Here kitty, kitty.”

080
Salty fingers, “Yum, yum!”

082
Milk mouths.

083

085
A newborn calf.

086
Good to the last drop!

093
Learning about the components of the feed.

103
We certainly had fun with the camera.  It was hard to take a “bad” scenic picture.

107
The view from our front porch.  Yes, those are calves in our front yard, smell and all:)

112
The view from the kitchen window.

116
Exploring the abandoned barn was great fun.

125
“Do my stockings go with my earrings?”

127
Hello from the hayloft!

That people may know, from the rising of the sun and from the west, that there is none besides me; I am the LORD, and there is no other.
~ Isaiah 45:6

Looks like a postcard!

503
We walked down the street and met our Amish neighbors.  We enjoyed taking a ride with our neighbor’s grandson Samuel and talking with him.  Kyle enjoyed driving!  Yikes!

The day before, my parents saw three girls riding in this cart with the miniature horse.  The next day, it was parked in the schoolhouse.
This was definitely one of our favorite parts of the trip.  We enjoyed the farm and being surrounded by God’s creation in so many ways!
