"Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate."
Psalm 127:3-5

Who is our God?

If somebody asked you this question, what would you say? Where would you begin? God is impossible to completely describe because He is so different from us. Here are some Scripture passages that just begin to describe who our God is.

"The Lord reigneth; let the people tremble: he sitteth between the cherubim; let the earth be moved. The Lord is great in Zion; and he is high above all the people. Let them praise thy great and terrible name; for it is holy."
Psalm 99:1-3

"And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands..."

"...They shall perish, but thou remainest:
and they all shall wax old as doth a garment."

Hebrews 1:10-11

"Who can utter the mighty acts of the Lord? Who can show forth all his praise?"
Psalm 106:2

"and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure..."

"and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?"
Isaiah 40:12

"Who hath directed the spirit of the Lord, or being his counselor hath taught him? With whom took he counsel, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of judgment, and taught him knowledge, and showed to him the way of understanding?"
Isaiah 40:13-14

"Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance...All nations before him are as nothing; and they are counted to him less than nothing, and vanity."
Isaiah 40:15 and 17

"To whom then will ye liken God? Or what likeness will ye compare unto him?
Isaiah 40:18

"It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in: that bringeth the princes to nothing; he maketh the judges of the earth as vanity,"
Isaiah 40:22-23

"Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth.
Isaiah 40:26

"Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said, who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge? Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me. Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if thou hast understanding. Who hath laid the measure thereof, if thou knowest? Or who hath stretched the line upon it? Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? Or who laid the corner stone thereof; when the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?"
Job 38:1-7

"I am the Lord, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, thou hast not known me: that they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the Lord, and there is none else. I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things."
Isaiah 45:5-7

"And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come. And when those beasts give glory and honor and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever, the four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created."
Revelation 4:8-11

"What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?"
Psalm 8:4

"But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren."
Hebrews 2:9-11
