"Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate."
Psalm 127:3-5

The City of Brotherly Love

We spent the night in New Jersey and then headed to Philadelphia, PA in the morning. There was so much to see!

057

Independence Hall.

114

George Washington in front of Independence hall.

066

A replica of the English Coat of arms which was displayed in Independence Hall before the War for Independence.

061

This was the first supreme court in the colonies located in Independence Hall.

074

The room where Independence was born! The chair at the very front of the room is original.

080

This is what the top of the original head chair looks like. It symbolizes the rising sun of America.

082

The cane on this table was Thomas Jefferson’s.

089

The inside of Independence Hall is very grand! This is looking toward the court room.

095

I thought this big clock on the side of Independence Hall was interesting.

105

This is where the House of Representatives met before Washington DC.

099

What is your opinion Representatives?

112

The Senate’s room was very pretty!

122

It was amazing to think that this is where so many of our founding fathers met to worship Jesus Christ, here in Christ Church.

117

Our family sitting in the Washington family pew.

121

Hanging in the tree structure is a bell that rang along with the Liberty Bell to announce Independence.

119

We were able to ring the same bell in Christ Church.

126

Of course, being in Philly, we had to have a Philly Cheesesteak. It was good!

131

To end the day, we visited the Liberty Bell. It was interesting because we have heard about the Liberty Bell all of our lives and then all of a sudden, there it was!

“Proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof.”
~ Leviticus 25:10

129

There is so much history to learn and see in Philadelphia! We enjoyed what we were able to see.

The rest of today will be spent in traveling to Cape Cod which will be our base for the next 5 days.

  1. There is so much evidence of God's activity in the history of our country, much of which is ignored by the mainstream today. It's good to get out there and see it, learn about it. I haven't been to Philadelphia yet. Thank you for sharing pieces of your trip.

It looks like you all are having a great time. You are missed back home. See you soon.
